Voting history

“A society doesn’t just crumble politically and economically. It also will have crumbled socially” — Phathisa Nyathi (1951 – 2024) said this to me at the Bulawayo Art Gallery in 2010. I begged him to put it in a book. I don’t think he ever did, but then again, he left us 80 books.

I always want to throw-up in my mouth when I hear a grown human being say they are not political or that they doesn’t vote in life – nonsense! Whether we live in a kingdom or a republic, politics governs our lives. People tell us funny things like, “the government did this”, “the media does that” – but are you following up on the individuals and their daily individual processes that make up government or the media?

Everyone wants a better life, and yet many people are apathetic with voting, electoral issues, and media watching (yes, write a Letter to the Editor please).
